Vodds Odds Scanner

The Vodds odds scanner brings odds from different betting providers into a single interface and lets users quickly compare prices for the same markets. This is especially useful for live betting, where odds can move within seconds.

What is the Vodds odds scanner?

In simple terms, it is an odds aggregator. It shows how much different bookmakers are willing to pay for the same outcome at a given moment.

Suppose Arsenal are playing Chelsea and we are interested in Arsenal -0.5. One bookmaker offers 1.91, another 1.96, and a third 2.03. From a prediction standpoint, nothing has changed: we are still backing Arsenal to win. Mathematically, however, the difference is significant.

With a €500 stake, odds of 1.91 produce €455 in net profit, while 2.03 return €515. That is a €60 difference on exactly the same bet. Over the long run, details like this matter. Experienced bettors usually choose the market first and then look for the best place to buy that price.

This approach makes particular sense with Vodds because of the platform’s model. A single account gives users access to multiple betting providers, so finding the best odds does not necessarily mean opening another bookmaker account and funding a separate balance. Vodds positions itself as a single-wallet solution with access to multiple bookmakers.

Why is it useful for betting fans?

For a regular bettor, the most obvious benefit is time saving. There is no need to keep a Pinnacle-style sportsbook, an Asian bookmaker, a betting exchange and several other operators open just to compare prices.

I would look at the scanner a little more broadly, though. It also helps you read the market itself.

For example, if almost every provider has Over 2.5 priced between 1.90 and 1.95, while one suddenly offers 2.08, that is worth investigating. Maybe that bookmaker reacted more slowly to a market move. Maybe its pricing model simply values the event differently. A higher price does not automatically make a bet +EV, but the scanner immediately shows where the outlier is.

The same applies in reverse. If your selected outcome was trading at 2.10 and the market then moves it down to 1.85 across the board, you can see where the money is going. For bettors who take pre-match analysis more seriously than “I think this team will win”, that kind of information can be more useful than many prediction services.

Vodds also highlights the ability to spot discrepancies between bookmakers that may create arbitrage opportunities. That said, I would not treat the Vodds arbitrage scanner as a classic standalone arb service that simply gives you a ready-made surebet, displays the return percentage and automatically calculates the stake for each side. Its main strength is still price comparison across available providers.

How does the scanner work in practice?

Take a simple 1X2 market. Bookmaker A offers 2.15 on the home team, bookmaker B offers 2.22, and bookmaker C offers 2.08. If my estimated probability of a home win is 48%, the “fair” price is roughly 2.08.

There is very little point taking 2.08 because there is no real edge over my own estimate. At 2.22, however, the situation changes: 2.22 × 0.48 = 1.0656

According to my model, that gives me an expected edge of around 6.6%. This is where the scanner stops being just a convenient odds table and becomes a practical betting tool: your analysis tells you what to bet on, while the scanner helps you decide where to place it.

The principle is similar with arbitrage. Suppose two bookmakers temporarily price opposite outcomes in such a way that the sum of their implied probabilities falls below 100%. In theory, you can split your stakes between both sides and lock in a profit regardless of the result.

Those windows usually do not last long. That is why the Vodds arbitrage scanner is more relevant to an active bettor working with Asian lines, totals and handicaps than to someone who places €10 on their favourite team once a week. The more bets you place, the more even a small difference in price affects your long-term results.

For me, that is the main value of Vodds. It is not trying to “predict the winner”, and an odds scanner should not be doing that anyway. Its job is much more practical: show you the market and help you take your chosen bet at the best available price.
